The 2011 NSW NSP Workers Forum was on at Citigate Central, Sydney on Monday 17 & Tuesday 18 October, with the popular annual dinner occurring on the Monday evening at the Aurora Hotel, Surry Hills.
"We can build it but will anyone come?"
The NSP has been operating for over 20 years. We know it is an important and effective public health strategy in the prevention of HIV and hepatitis C transmission among people who inject drugs, and therefore to the wider community.
However as we look forward to the next 5 years – we need to ask ourselves
- how relevant are our current models
- who are we engaging with now, and how can we better engage with at risk groups
- what do new generations want from an NSP service
- what 's working well and what is not
- what are frontline workers telling us
- what is happening nationally and globally that we can learn from
- how can leadership be strengthened to support and guide change
The final evaluation report will be available on this website in December 2011.
