Target groups

  • Registered nurses or
  • Registered midwives or
  • Enrolled Nurses or
  • Aboriginal sexual health workers

Participants will gain:  

  • A broadening of clinical experiences and knowledge in sexual health with emphasis on the management of STIs/BBVs.
  • An understanding of the range of services provided by sexual health clinics.
  • The opportunity to observe a range of client presentations and practice sexual health clinical skills under supervision with constructive feedback.
  • Access to up to date sexual health resources.   

The placement will be most relevant to people working in the specialties of practice nursing, midwifery, HIV/AIDS, women’s health, youth health, primary health, mental health and alcohol and other drugs.

Notes

An application and information pack will be sent out. All learners must complete NSW Health student placement declarations. Applicants successfully completing the placement will be given a certificate stating hours completed.
